Sherna: The five best words which describe me in a nutshell are perfectionist, blunt, weird, clumsy & old-school.
BG- When did you start blogging and what was your motivation behind starting the same?
Sherna: I started blogging actively in mid-2011; because that’s when I realized my views, opinions & creativity were meant to be shared. My motivation was my own desire to be able to convey and communicate my ideas inside and outside my circle. One of the easiest platforms to share then was blogging and the rest is history.
BG- Can you give us an idea on the theme of your blog (Meow Connect) and what kind of content your readers love?
Sherna: Meow Connect is my personal blog where I share my ideas, views, reviews, poems and short fiction stories. The theme which majorly associates with my blog is – Life and its twists and turns! My readers mostly appreciate my blunt un-tampered reviews and gripping-style fiction.
BG- How much time do you keep for blogging on a weekly basis?
Sherna: My passion to share always keeps me on my toes to blog (*smiles) but if I was asked how many man-hours I invest, then I would say about 6-8 hours pert week. It almost doubles up as a part time job and it’s just that I love doing that job!
BG- What are the top three lessons that you have learnt in your journey so far?
Sherna: In my journey so far I have learnt: Time your posts well; Every blog requires some bit of SEO, promotion and monitoring to enhance readership and last but not the least is to be clear on your stand.
BG- How did you get to where you are now with your blog? To what do you attribute your success?
Sherna: I attribute my success to my readers (both new and repeat readers) because they lay their trust in my words. With every share I receive, I regain more and more trust. Their comments & motivation have placed me in the level I am now and believe me I truly love it.
BG- One of the hardest things for beginner bloggers is getting traffic. What tips can you give bloggers to drive traffic to a new blog?
Sherna: Concentrate on SEO and promotion. Be it any niche, every blog is driven mostly by promotion. Of course that’s how you get the readers on your page. Devote your time strategically and set initial readership/viewership goals.
