Today, we welcome Sweta who runs a beautiful blog called “Oriyarasoi“ to Baggout. Getting straight to the interview –
BG- Tell us something about yourself. Which three words would describe you best ?
Sweta- A food blogger and writer by passion, I have almost six years experience in IT. It was my love for food and the desire to eat healthy that propelled me towards cooking. While I used to try out almost every restaurant in town as a bachelor ( i rarely cooked during those days ), I focussed on learning new recipes after marriage. In the initial days, I used to call up my Mom, MIL, aunt and any other female relative that one can think of as I was a complete rookie.
If I had to use three words to describe myself, they would be ‘independent’, ‘humble’ and ‘Mom’. (Of course the last one stands for all the superhuman powers that mothers are endowed with)
BG- How would you describe your blog in one sentence ?
Sweta- My blog is a eclectic mix of both simple, medium complex and some quite complex recipes. Most of the traditional Odia recipes are quite simple and healthy but they are almost unknown on a national level. This is a platfrom for highlighting such recipes. Plus my blog also have some easy to do cakes/muffins recipes for the baking enthusiasts.
BG- How long have you been blogging ? What do you like most about blogging ?
Sweta- Have been blogging for 5 years now. And 90 percent of my posts are about recipes with some product reviews, online shopping reviews and cultural bytes thrown in.
There are a lot of perks I would say. You learn from people, share your own ideas, make some friends and ofcourse it gives the motivation to try out new things (recipes in my case).
BG- What is your Favorite Online Shopping Destination ?
Sweta- I would say it is Bigbasket.com/Zopnow.com closely followed by Jabong.com and Babyoye.com. (But I would like to add that Baggout.com is quite compelling with its cashback offer and as I already have some cashback in my kitty would not mind heading there the next time I decide to shop online)
BG- What was your first purchase using your own money ?
Sweta- It was long back in 2006 when I had joined Infosys. Had bought a Nokia mobile with my first salary.
BG- What is your Craziest Purchase in last three months ?
Sweta- Thankfully nothing. I have purchase some very goof stuff from Jabong in the last 3 months and I am absolutely loving all of it.
BG- If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what five items would you want with you ?
Sweta- I do not mind getting shipwrecked as long as some online retailer ships to that place .Haha. PJ’s apart, I would like an extra pair of clothing, soap, tea bags (I cant live without tea), biscuits and a book. ( Now that the Survivour TV series is running through my mind…i think that it would be really exciting )
BG- How do you think can Baggout help you while shopping online ?
Sweta- Best deals/products at one place and ofcourse the cashback. (For example if I am looking for a cartoon print Tee, then searching for it on Baggout.com saves time as compared through individually browsing through all the online retailers sites)
BG – Thanks Sweta for your interview. I hope our users will like it!!!
