Interview Of Rahul Prabhakar, An Awesome Blogger

Today, we welcome Rahul who runs a beautiful blog called “When the Muse Strikes“ to Baggout. Getting straight to the interview

 

BG- Tell us something about yourself. Which three words would describe you best?

Rahul- I’m a 34-year-old travel and technology blogger from Delhi, India. People who know me believe that I’m loveable, intelligent, and creative. I believe them too <wicked smile!>. Guess that sums me the best.

 

BG- How would you describe your blog in one sentence?

Rahul- “When the Muse Strikes!”, as the name suggests, is about random musings about my travel exploits and technology rants.

 

BG- How long have you been blogging? What do you like most about blogging?

Rahul- It has been eight years already. My first blog post was published on February 21, 2006. I have written close to 50 blog posts. A good hard look at all these years would reveal more.

Like in July 2010, MindTouch published a ranking of The Top 25 Most Influential Bloggers in Technical Communications. Yours truly also made the cut at number 18. Surprising enough, there was no other Indian in that elite list. Reason to be proud, eh?

I inflicted a self-imposed exile from 2012 to 2013, a period of time when I thought I hit the writer’s block.

The best part about blogging is the addiction. Your content resonates with people almost instantly. Even if they don’t like what you’ve published, you will still get an opinion. And I think that is important for growth! I consider the audience of my blog as my best critique. The part I like the most about being a professional blogger is that there is never a dull moment.

 

BG- What is your favorite online shopping destination?

Rahul- I like shopping at Jabong and Flipkart.

 

BG- What was your first purchase using your own money?

Rahul- I am not sure since I started earning in 1996 (you would not believe but my first pay cheque was a paltry Rs 150/- which I received for hosting a radio show on All India Radio’s Yuv-Vani channel.) I think I may have purchased a pen or something inexpensive with that amount.

 

BG- What is your Craziest Purchase in last three months?

Rahul- I am a sucker for T-shirts from Marvel. In my wardrobe, you’ll find a T-shirt with every Marvel comic character that you can possibly imagine – be it The Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Spider-Man,  etc.

 

BG- If you were shipwrecked on a desert island what five items would you want with you?

Rahul- This one is a no-brainer. I’d want my shaving kit, deodorant, soap, Marvel T-shirts, and smartphone.

 

BG- How do you think can Baggout help you while shopping online?
