Tete a tete with Deepa – A rising star !!

BG– Tell us something about yourself. Which five words would describe you the best?

Deepa- Outright, Crazy, Sentimental, loyal, dependable

 

BG– When did you start blogging and what was your motivation behind starting the same?

Deepa- Well, I started blogging in 2008. It started as venting out. As in there was too much going on in life and things that I couldn’t speak out to anyone, those came out as words and no better place than a blog.

 

BG- Can you give us an idea on the theme of your blog (Rantzz of a Drama Queen) and what kind of content your readers love?

Deepa- Ahh..hmm..if I had to theme my blog, I would theme it as Life of an average girl or maybe emotions

 

BG- How much time do you keep for blogging on a weekly basis?

Deepa- There is no particular time for blogging, for me a blog post comes out of what I feel, I feel I write, keep it as a draft, edit it sometime and post it.

 

BG- What are the top three lessons that you have learnt in your journey so far?

Deepa- Readers are your encouragement to blog

You are not the only one who goes through similar emotions there are many other out there too

If you are happy you write, if you are sad you write. But, not everything has to be published. Sometimes write for yourself.

 

BG- How did you get to where you are now with your blog? To what do you attribute your success?

Deepa- My readers and of course social networks

 

BG- One of the hardest things for beginner bloggers is getting traffic. What tips can you give bloggers to drive traffic to a new blog?

Deepa- Advertise your blog, Don’t look for monetizing it just too soon, get a base first, talk about it to your friends, Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp. Send links, ask feedback, take negative feedback too and work on it. Your friends can share your post. But do not force it down their throats to share it. Not everyone would like it.

Slow and steady wins the race. It starts slow, very slow actually. Then the graph just rises on and on and on

 

BG- Where do you see your blog five years from now?

Deepa- More readers and lot of memories, and I hope to publish more regularly

Deepa- A girl’s best friend, shopping, best deals, coupons, discounts. What else does a girl have a to ask for
