BG- Tell us something about yourself. Which five words would describe you the best?
Sushmita: Well, I love calling myself a student because I believe that we are learning every day.
And as the bio of my blog describes me – Impulsive, At times Compulsive, Confused, Crazy and High on Life.
BG- When did you start blogging and what was your motivation behind starting the same?
Sushmita: I started blogging in 2009, but started taking my blog seriously after 2013. Initially, it was more of a personal diary. But later on I realized how to use my freedom of expression. The major motivation behind coming up with my blog as it is today was to make my opinion matter and count.
BG- Can you give us an idea on the theme of your blog (My World) and what kind of content your readers love?
Sushmita: As I mentioned, my blog is personal blog and I cover things that matter in daily life. I believe that my readers like the sarcasm in my posts.
BG- How much time do you keep for blogging on a weekly basis?
Sushmita: I write daily. I post twice or thrice a week.
BG- What are the top three lessons that you have learnt in your journey so far?
Sushmita: Always go for good quality of content rather than quantity. Never compromise on your original writing style for anything or anyone. It is important to learn and evolve everyday.
BG- How did you get to where you are now with your blog? To what do you attribute your success?
Sushmita: As they say, there are no shortcuts to success. I read regularly and write regularly. That is the only key. And yes, it is necessary to network with bloggers who are more experienced and know how things work in the blogosphere. You get to learn a lot from them.
BG- One of the hardest things for beginner bloggers is getting traffic. What tips can you give bloggers to drive traffic to a new blog?
Sushmita: The only answer to this question is VISIBILITY. Make your blog as much visible as possible. Share the links on social media. Get yourself listed in the bloggers’ directories that exist over the internet. Network with fellow bloggers. And most importantly, post regularly. Understand your readers and post valuable content that they would love to read. This helps in word-of-mouth publicity.
BG- Where do you see your blog five years from now?
Sushmita: I see my blog prospering each day. And five years down the line, it has to be the most read blog.
