In this hindi film industry, some movies don’t collect much revenue at the box office in their initial days or days near to their release are called flops. Following is the list of 9 movies which flopped in their initial days but took over at later stages:

1. Mera Naam Joker—-

Initially,it failed to impress audience even though it took 6 years and good fortune of Raj Kapoor. Later on audience could understand the plot of the movie and it is termed as one of the classic movie.

2.Silsila—-

Yash Chopra production is nowadays remembered as the most romantic movie.and its songs were hit at the time of release also.But audiences could never understand the story line and therefore it didn’t performed well at the box-office.

3. Sholay—-

Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay is considered as one of the greatest hit of all times. However, In 1990 it received non favourable box office return and critics reviews. Later with a word of mouth it was made success.Even in January 2014, it was shown in 3D format too.

4. Pyaar ka Punchnama—-

It was received with critical reviews and mixed responses. It had six debutants.It is said to be most successful small budget movie.

5.The Burning Train—-

This was a Ravi chopra’s  movie. It had a huge star cast. It was a action thriller. It didn’t do well at the time of release. It opened up 100% but collections fell in the following weeks which moved up again. It was rated as below average performer.

6.Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron—-

It is known to be a ‘must watch’ movie of all times. It flopped as audience could not understand its sattire and were confused after watching. Later on, it was regarded as a classic movie.

7.Dil Se—-

Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se was not liked initially as it had a delicate plot between love and terrorism. Later, with the help of the A.R.Rehman’s music it grew as classic.

8. Agneepath—-

Initially, it failed at the box office and was thought Amitabh Bachchan’s style of Dialogue delivery.But later on it was termed as a classicand even remade starring Hrithik Roshan.

9. Andaz Apna Apna—-

Even after the amazing star cast,comic dialogues this film could not do well. But till now, this film has its presence felt.
