16. Quadracci Pavilion At The Milwaukee Art Museum

On the top of Quadracci Pavilion, movable wing like brise soleil which is made up of 72 steel fins, make this Milwaukee Art Museum apart. It works as a 217 foot movable sunscreen which closes at night or inclement weather.

It is situated in Osaka, Japan and connects to a part of the city where nature is sparse to a sloping green park full of trees, rocks, lawns, streams and waterfalls. 13. Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre Pavilion

The rippled pine building was crafted by blending traditional material that will withstand harsh climate and modern 3-D model to drive the milling machines, the pavilion is warmed inside and out by a suspended furnace giving visitors a warm place to sit even outside.

12. Manhattan Apartment Building

This deconstructivist apartment building located in 8, Spruce Street in New York City is One Of the tallest residential buildings in the world. Living here is like living in self contained town: lower level consists of a public elementary school, 25,000 square feet of space for the downtown New York hospital, public plazas and many retail shops. So, residents never have to travel far to access basic services. It is one of the most beautiful towers in all of New York City.

11. Casa Batllo

It is amazing remodel of an existing house. It looks skeletal and organic. It has served several functions since its renovation from 1904-1906 but its main floor is currently a museum and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

10. The Arc

It is inspired by the semi rural region surrounding the metropolis of Daegu. It is indigenously designed to mimic the surrounding environment-rivers and forests are reflected in its padded exteriors. Sky and mountains are cast back in the pool on its roof. Inside a 360- degree video wall projects abstraction of the surrounding landscape. It is a tribute to the natural beauty of the South Korean Landscape, it certainly inspires a reverence for the beauty and power of the nature.

Hello! You are not looking at the photoshopped picture but this crooked house or krzywy domek is inspired by the illustrations of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg. It has a wacky, animated appeal that invites guests to its many shops, restaurants and cafes.

8. Landmarke Lausitzer Seenland

It is an observation deck that overlooks a plot of land destroyed by coal mining. Otherwise barren, this stark tower works only as a steps leading to the observation deck.

7. Wonderful Parisian Door

The entry to 29, Avenue Rapp, 7th arrondissement in Paris was built in 1901. Large-scale use of glazed earthenware was most unusual and made 29 Avenue Rapp outshone other ceramic facades built even years later.

6. The Union Of Romanian Architects Headquarters

The Frankenstein like assemblage of French Renaissance and contemporary architectural styles sets it apart from its neighbours in Bucharest. Prior to World War I it was to house Austrian Embassy. It was expanded in 2003 in new style in order to comply with the neighbour’s architectural rules.

5. Baumraum Treehouse

Amazing modification of a tree house rises above a picturesque pond amid a hemlock spruce forest. It is a perfect observation deck and sleeping cabin. Its top floor is dominated by a large bed and the lower floor is surrounded by the sleeping benches. Both floors are graced with floor to ceiling windows allowing its participants to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.

4. Kuggen

Besides bright colours it is energy efficient. Upper floor projects over the lower providing partial shade throughout the day. Revolving sun shade protects the sun facing side of the building. The facade’s ceramic panels are made from the same stuff as 4000 years old pottery and so have a very long lifetime. It gives the opportunity to reuse it as a building material long after the structure’s functional life ends.

3. Ting 1

The colourful crown of Ting 1 emerged from the foundation of an old concrete courthouse. The red, green, yellow, white design was inspired by Bengt Lindstrom paintings.  Keeping the bright colours preserved with glazed ceramic tiles with a special coating that spreads rainwater in a thin sheet across the building, thereby lifting the dirt and allowing the building to self clean with every rainstorm.

2. Supertrees At Gardens By The Bay

Each of the 18 supertrees at gardens by the bay are 25-50 Meters tall  and truly immense. Supertrees are a vertical garden. Over 162,900 plants from 200 different species are blooming there. It is simply amazing that these architectural marvels also work like real trees. Both collect sunshine.  Real ones do it with photosynthesis and the latter one with the help of photovoltaic cells that harvest solar energy which powers the park. They also serve as air exhaust vents for the energy centres and cooled conservatories.

1. Antinori Winery

It was designed to merge architecture with landscape. The structure is partially buried and roof functions as vineyard. Below ground, immature wines are aged in carefully climate controlled terracotta vaults punctuated by spiraling staircases, domed ceilings and sunroofs.
