Just when the country was trying to configure the consequences of Budget this year by calculating their expenses and further economical plans, we noticed a recent comment made by Honorable High Court which is extremely hilarious yet solved the biggest mystery revolved around an important question i.e. The Difference Between Sandals And Chappals. Traditionally, a chappal is what we wear casually at home (atleast what I think) which most of us don’t even take care of. All my life I was completely took it for granted till I heard this detailed explanation by the court itself.

As per High Court- Footwear without a back strap is a sandal, not a chappal. That was indeed the last day I looked at my chappal, coz they are now all evolved as Sandals and now I can officially say that I wear sandals even at home.
Jokes Apart. Why Court Said so?
The judgement came after a Chennai-based footwear manufacturer, Wishall International who demanding the demanded 10% drawback against Revenue department who claimed them as chappals which attracts only 5% custom duty drawbacks.
And enough of trolling has been done by twitter on this. Have a look:

So footwear with back strap is chappal? Wouldn’t that require a redefinition of “Chappal se maroongi!”?
