10 Stereotypes About Indian Villages Which Are TOTALLY Wrong!!

There are some serious misconceptions about the villages in India that need to be cleared with time. Often thinking about our villages, we pre assume a unhygienic place where mostly farmers or illiterates lives. Little do we know is the development these villages have seen over these years. Not all of them are that much developed, agreed and there’s still a lot of work that needs to be done, but looking at the bright side we can take a moment to clear up the illusions we have had for villages in India.

1. Everyone Living In A Village Are Not Illiterate

Ofcourse not. not at all, most of the people living in villages are educated. Although there’s a lack of better education system in the rural areas, still people are more interested towards making the next generation more educated than they are.

2. Houses In Villages Are Not Made Of Mud

Not every village, not every house. Way back people were used to live in houses made from mud to keep their homes cool during the summers.

3. Not All People Living In A Village Are Poor

4. People Living In Rural Areas Are Not Unhygienic

People living in rural areas are pretty hygienic when compared to urban areas. They recycle each and every thing they use without exploiting the natural resources like we do. Moreover, pollution levels are higher in urban areas than rural.

5. Not All Those Who Lives In Village Can’t Speak English

They can talk english, they can walk english and for them english is a funny language.

6. Indian Villages Are Not Just The Home Of Farmers

Not only farmers lives in a vilage. Their are people from different fields living in a village. You can find doctors, engineers, labours all living in village together.

7. All Villagers Are Not Orthodox

They are changing with time. Breaking the traditional norms and taking a stand towards what is good.

8. All Villagers Don’t Talk In A Different Accent

Most of them talk in a very polite way using our mothertongue- Hindi.

9. Not All Villages In India Face Electricity Shortage
