Determine your eye shape!
1. Wide Set Eyes
People who have wide set eyes have an array of things that they can choose from when it comes to contouring around the eye! The best way to make these eyes look more angular and defining is to contour the nose bridge. It benefits in adding definition to the wide space between the eyes. Darkening the inner corners of the eyes makes the eyes look closer. Also, elongating the brows at the inner corners makes the nose bridge look smaller!
When applying eyeliner, kitty flicks make for the perfect style! Narrow, short and more vertical flicks make the eyes look intense and mystical! Avoid shimmery eye-shadow in the tear duct tactic to avoid emphasizing the amount of space!
2. Close Set Eyes
As opposed to wide set eyes, you need to create the illusion that your eyes are more further apart. The best way to make this happen is to use light colours at the inner corners that make the eyes appear soft. Use a medium color and shade a little farther out than the width of the eye in a wide, round shape. Then take the darker color and shade from the outside on top of the crease to give it more contrast.
When applying eyeliner on close set eyes, cat eyes look perfect! Only swipe it across two-thirds of the eye for an elongating effect. Using a shimmery highlight in the inner corners creates more visual distance from the nose. Applying extra mascara or apply additional lashes to the outer corner in order to tug attention outwards!
3. Almond Eyes
Almond eyes have the most symmetrical shape. This is the most fun eye shape to make up. Use a matte taupe color over the lid, into the crease and upwards toward the brow bone makes. Then, use a deeper matte shade on the outer corner and blend both lines together. Also, using a light colour in the inner eye and tear duct are really makes the eyes very attractive! Avoid using shimmer over the entire eye lid as it makes the eye area look too wide!
4. Down Turned Eye
The best way to make up these type of eyes is to make the ends appear lifted. Dark, smokey look really suits this eye shape! Heavy eye liner starting from the inner corners to the outer ends should be applied. Makeup on the bottom eyelid should be avoided since it make the eye appear droopy and heavy!
5. Protruding Eyes
These round eyes are generally characterized by appearing to project from the eye socket. They look best with minimal makeup and don’t require much to appear awake and refreshed! Matte colors over shimmers, and dust over the entire lid with a nude shadow neutralize shadows and redness.
When applying the eyeliner, thin line as close to the lashes as possible, looks the best. A dark kohl over the bottom eyelid does wonders for the eyes! Elongated cat eyes can also help minimize the bulge of the eye. But mascara should only be applied farthest from the tear gland.
6. Deep Set Eyes
For this eye shape, we have to accentuate the highlighted parts of the eye to give the illusion of roundness, but not overpower it with dark shadow. To prevent the eyes from looking sunken, keep your light colour on the lid and a warm colour under the brow bone to create a multi-dimensional look.
when applying the eyeliner, keep the thickest part on the outer edges of the eye to essentially nudge back that orbital bone. Mascara on the top lashes to amp up the allure, should be applied. But mascara on the lower lashes should be avoided because this might make the shadows more conspicuous!
7. Hooded Eyes
With these types of eyes, an extra layer of skin will completely diminish your eyelid, making it appear to dissolve seamlessly into the brow bone. Highlighting the lids with a light, applying shimmery shade to accentuate them and to create even more dimension should be applied. A dark matte eye shadow above the eyelid’s crease can be used to emulate a double eyelid.
When it comes to eyeliner, define the upper lash line with an eyeliner pen option. Keep the liner as close to the lash line as possible to create a thick winged cat eyeliner effect. Smoky eyes can often swallow your natural recesses, so it should be avoided.
8. Asian Eyes
This eye shape can wear many different looks! Cat eyes liner looks best on Asian eyes which are a little up turned. Coloured eye shadow also suites these eyes and makes them look brighter and more attractive! This eye shadow should be light at the top and gradually darken towards the eye lash.
