P.V. Sindhu, Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, Well, you people must have heard this name many times by now. She is an Indian Professional Badminton Player. P.V. Sindhu was born on 5th July 1995 (22). She was born in Hyderabad, India. She graduated from St. Ann’s College For Women.

Sindhu Father, Pusarla Venkata Ramana, He is a former professional Volleyball player and he is an employee of the Indian Railways. He was the part of Indian Volleyball team in 1986 Asian Games and the team won the Bronze Medal and later in 2000 he was awarded with Arjuna Award for his contribution to the Indian volleyball team.
Sindhu Mother, Pusarla Vijaya, She is also a former National level Volleyball player.
Sindhu has an elder sister and her name is Divya.
P.V. Sindhu’s parents were professional Volleyball player, so for herself, she chose badminton. Initially Sindhu learned basics of Badminton under Mehboob Ali at the badminton court of the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications in Secunderabad. She started playing badminton from the age of Eight.
Soon after she joined Pullela Gopichand’s Gopichand Badminton Academy. After joining the academy Sindhu won several titles. In the under-10 years category, she won the 5th Servo All India ranking championship in the doubles category and the singles title at the Ambuja Cement All India ranking. In the under-13 years category, Sindhu won the singles title at the Sub-juniors in Pondicherry, doubles titles at the Krishna Khaitan All India Tournament, IOC All India Ranking, the Sub-Junior Nationals and the All India Ranking in Pune. She also won the under-14 team gold medal at the 51st National School Games in India.
In the international circuit, Sindhu was a bronze medalist at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships held in Colombo. At the 2010 Iran Fajr International Badminton Challenge, she won the silver medal in the singles category. And she kept going and eventually she was a team member in India’s National Team at the 2010 Uber Cup. P.V. Sindhu has won so many medals in different championships that frankly, it’s kind of tiring to mention every one of them one by one but a round figure can be given. She has won 6 Bronze, 3 Silver and 2 Gold medals in the Girls Singles fixture, 4 Bronze Medals in Mixed Team.

Sindhu’s Biggest achievement is that, she has won a silver medal in 2016 Rio De Jeneiro Olympics. P.V. Sindhu finished the match in under 50 minutes. The final scoreline read 21-13, 21-10 and it was a clear indication of the kind of superiority the Indian ace exhibited in the semi-final of one of the grandest stages of the tournament.
Sindhu has won 4 awards. She won 2 awards in 2013, 1 award in 2015 and 2016. She won the Arjuna award in 2013. Sindhu had missed the opportunity to receive the award from President Pranab Mukhejee at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on August 31 as she was busy playing in the final of the Indian Badminton league.
Later she received the award from Jitendra Singh, who is Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, CNN-IBN Indian of the Year in Sports which she received from Virendra Sehwag. Both in 2013.
Later in 2015, she was awarded the Padma Shri Award and later in 2016 she received Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award from Our former President Shri Pranab Mukharjee.
