Shaheer’s father’s name is Shahnawaz Sheikh and his mother’s name is Dilshad Sheikh and he has one younger sister.
Sheikh started his television career with the television series, Sanya where he played Arjun Shekhawat, Sanya’s love interest. However, his first ever noticeable role was in the show, Kya Mast Hai Life. He played the role of Veer Mehra, a teenager who loves music and playing guitar. After the second season of the show ended, Sheikh was seen in Jhansi Ki Rani. He played Nana Sahib, brother of Rani of Jhansi.
Later in 2011, he was approached to play a lead role in a T.V Series “Navya..Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal”. Then in 2013-14, he played the role of Arjuna in a historical T.V series Mahabharata.
In 2016, he got a lead role in a T.V series named “Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise Bhi”. This role made him real famous in the industry. Alongside this, he also did episodic roles and gave guest appearances in many Indonesian television series. He was seen as Raden Petir in Roro Jonggrang, as Salman in Malaikat Kecil Dari India, as Aladin/Ali Besar in Aladin & Alakadam.
The actor, dated Ayu Ting Ting, a single mother, for four months; but the relationship was not for keeps. In conversation to an entertainment website, Shaheer said that Ayu helped him settle down in Indonesia and helped him become comfortable with the culture and language of the country. Moreover, she was a “transparent and helpful” person. Sharing the reasons behind the fallout, the Mahabharat star said,
“Even though she spoke English, we could hardly understand each other’s emotions.” He added that people near to them did not want them to be together because she was a single mom. Soon, misunderstandings led to bigger issues and eventually they chose to break-up
