Krupa Shah is using Art to Bring the Right Kind of Change in the Society

Nowadays when it comes to serving the society, people feel it is all about charity,
distributing food, donating old stuff, or organising a beach or a street clean-up. However,
when it comes to actually bring a difference in society, it starts with oneself.

One needs a right kind of upbringing and surroundings to bring a considerable amount of
positive change in the society. As we speak about people with a strong mindset and a
passion for bringing the right kind of change, imagine a person doing the same with her
art and her beliefs. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?

Today, we’re speaking about none other than the versatile, self-contained and a beautiful
artist — Krupa Shah. She is a self-built woman who has carved her niche from the very
scratch.

Known for creating awareness and conveying powerful messages about issues that
touch our lives through art, Krupa’s every painting is more like a story in itself. One of her
finest paintings that she has created was dedicated to the girl child Asifa. Through this
self-portrait masterpiece, she organised a fundraising activity which collected handsome
funds that’ll be directly handed over to her family to fight for justice.

Krupa, just like her name, is a very sensitive person. She did not just limit her art to Asifa
but also has contributed to the Maharashtra droughts as well. She painted yet another
magnificent artwork to raise funds which were donated to the Chief Minister of
Maharashtra – Mr Devendra Fadnavis. She was accoladed for her wonderful contribution
by him.

Not only does she believes in painting for such amazing causes, but also her inner
spiritual personality is one of the major reasons of her sacred interpretations on the
canvas. A Conch or Shankh (in Sanskrit) has always been an integral part of Shah’s
personal and professional life. It clearly and effortlessly reflects in her signature
collection, ‘Abhiscka’ – which majorly highlights why one should never lose that spiritual
touch.

Krupa is not just confined to being an artist, she is a philanthropist too. She is a levelheaded
woman who believes in making the world a stronger and compassionate place to
live in. Her conversant personality has been one of the reasons that she was the only
Indian to be a huge part of the Women Economic Forum held in the United Kingdom
earlier in July’18. She has always believed in and supported for women to be
independent, follow their dreams and never be suppressed by anybody or anything. Her passion
for women empowerment aims to encourage every woman to break the glass
ceiling of stereotypes and patriarchy they face in any step of their lives and achieve what
they desire.

As we speak of compassion, Shah is unstoppable. Her affection towards kids can be
easily witnessed as she teaches art to blind kids. “As they’re differently abled, I always
wanted to make them feel like everyone else. And inculcating art into them, introducing
colours and hand touch to them, teaching them different techniques develops their
confidence. You can’t show them how does a colour look, hence I chose food or rather
flavours and smell that they use in their daily lives as a reference to make them relate to
colours. For example, vanilla is white, while the warmth of the sun is yellow. Practicing
daily makes them a different person every single day.”, says Krupa.

This is what we’re talking about – bringing some optimistic and real change in the society
and the world we are living in. Today, if there’s something we need, it is nothing but
compassion, love, affection, and passion to bring a change. Someone has said —
‘Change starts with you’, and our boss lady has proven each word right by setting an
example for everyone.
