Stress and weight gain: Prevention tips

So, many people have asked us whether depression and weight gain or anxiety and weight gain may happen or not because of similarity.

Therefore, in this blog, let’s try to understand whether stress and weight gain have anything in between them or not.

Stress, a convict?

Stress is one of the widest spread problems in the world. It is said that in India alone, there are 89% people who are struggling with stress. Although, there are many people who have gained fat while in stress, but is it only because of stress and weight gain only happened because of that?

There’s something known as stress eating. It’s a western term which relates to eating a lot of food under stress.

Although, there are many scientific evidences which say that stress has long term high hunger effects on the body. Despite the fact that many people can go on empty stomach for long times but in the long run, stress and weight gain are proportional to each other.

Stress out your diet?

Having a healthy meal is what a body needs. Different people across different regions eat different meals. But, they’re still alive. The reason is that they’re primarily having the same or somewhat different nutritional values everyday. Hence, it does not matter what food you eat. What matters is whether you’re completing your daily target of nutrition or not.

So, when someone is in stress and weight gain is something they don’t want, then they must understand what they’re eating and how much of it they’re eating.

It’s recommended that they should eatsless amounts of fats. Hence, there arisesless questions of depression weight gain or anxiety weight gain. It’s always appreciable to be careful ourselves. Thus, it may help in reducing weight.

Don’t eat too fast

Another factor which comes to light of stress and weight gain problem is the way someone eats. Very often people are found that they’re almost stuffing up food inside their mouth. Sometimes, it happens because the people feel that by doing so, they’ll be able to fight some demons.

This is also known as stress eating. When on one hand someone is going through stress and weight gain may happen very quickly, if they neglect such signs.

Fast eating may stop them to understand whether they are eating something or stuffing something.

Forced exercising

This one is for those who know someone who is  into stress and weight gain is their main problem. When someone is already stressed, they might face problems understanding how they can lose weight.

So, tell your friends to go out for small walks or exercise after their meals. If they’re in stress and weight gain bothers them, then going for small walks might help them a lot.

Sleeping less

Sleep plays an important role in determining someone’s health. No matter if we talk about anxiety weight gain or depression weight gain, in both the cases, sleep plays a major role in it.

So, no matter who you are, despite your age, caste, sex, religion or any other factor, you should not sleep less than 7 to 8 hours daily. If you have been trained by some professional which reduces your sleep time, then that’s another issue. But here, we have someone who’s fighting stress and weight gain is their enemy.

Control your cravings

Being in stress and weight gain can be an issue. But, being in stress and cravings for pizzas and sweets can be worrying signs for others.

It’s not about how fast they’ve been putting on weight. It’s about how they’re keeping up with their taste buds.

Someone, who’s anxiety weight gaining, they may find lots of problems to understand whether they have cravings or is it just hunger.

Hence, it is highly recommended to control cravings about whatever they want to eat. They must always eat in limits.
