International Monetary Fund Chief Economist Gita Gopinath was born on 8th December, 1971 in Mysore city of Karnataka state, India. Gita’s father is T.V. Gopinath and mother is V.C. Vijayalakshmi. Her zodiac sign is Sagittarius and she belongs to a Hindu family.

She pursued BA from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi in 1992. And before that, she came from a Public school who’s name is not known yet.
In 1994, today’s International Monetary Fund Chief Economist Gita Gopinath took admission in Delhi School of Economics (DSE) in M.A. (Economics). After that, she went to the USA to study M.A. from University of Washington in 1996. Later on, she went to Princeton University to pursue her Ph.D in 2001.
