Recent and Future Trends in the Beauty Industry

The beauty industry is continuously changing, but there are a few constants. For one, health and beauty courses in TM Edit and other schools will always be worthwhile and can help you further your career. The methods being taught may change, but the goal remains the same, which is to increase overall wellness by increasing beauty.

The rest, however, is fair game. The following are just some examples of recent changes and upcoming trends to watch out for which have and will continue to alter the face of the beauty industry.

1. Virtual Imaging Technology In Beauty Salons

With the aid of hairstyle and cosmetic imaging technologies, clients can see the possible outcomes of a haircut or makeup they plan to have. With a camera linked to this program, customers can choose what style suits them best from an extensive database. Once they have decided, a stylist trained in health and beauty courses from reputable places can make it happen.

2. Increase In Male Personal Care And Gender-Neutral Makeup

For many years, men’s personal care products have been mostly restricted to razors and hair-loss prevention. But recently, thanks to social media and the social influencers that use them as platforms, men’s and gender-neutral makeup and other beauty products are emerging.

3. A Deeper Level Of Personalised Skincare

Customised skincare continues to gain traction. Some brands attain this customisation by asking their customers questions like skin type, food consumption, daily routine, and daily habits to meet each individual skincare needs; others up the ante by doing DNA tests or using AI to find the perfect shade for your skin tone.

There is even a device called the HiMirror, which is essentially a smart device that can tell you if a beauty product you are using is working by tracking wrinkles, red spots, pores, fine lines, and other tell-tale signs of aging. Even scientists are weighing in, touting the bacteria-balancing microbiome skincare as the next big thing in skincare.

4. Increase In Organic Plant-Based Ingredients In Beauty Products

Vegan beauty is a plants-first approach adapted to making skincare products. Some brands have gone as far as renting or buying farms to have more control over the production process of their plant-based ingredients. It is also seen by consumers as a solution for animal cruelty since international standards on testing cosmetic products are still non-existent.

5. Companies Using Viral Merchandising

The internet continues to shape the way things are being done or seen. And some companies continue to take advantage of this by partnering with influencers whose job is to raise brand awareness using social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram or through blogs.

6. Anti-Pollution Skincare On The Rise

The skin is the biggest organ of the body, and it is the main interface between people and pollutants. It ages faster from frequent exposure to harmful particulate matter, and this is the premise that some brands build their products on. Aside from using pollution-fighting sustainable ingredients, these are encased in biodegradable or recyclable packaging.

They say the only constant in life is change. But in the beauty industry, the fact that stylists must remain capable and well-trained in the face of technological and social advances is also unchanging. The health and beauty courses in TM Edit and other beauty schools can give will always be relevant despite the changing times.
