However he got married again, with another former theatre actor Supriya Pathak in the year 1988. They had children, Sanah Kapoor and Ruhaan Kapoor.
Her mom, Supriya Pathak  being a theatre actor has inspired her a lot for taking a step in Bollywood. She too has been a part of Bollywood since the year 1981. Both her parents having a filmy career directed her goals and dreams towards acting and drama.

The actress cites that her casting as the role of Alia’s sister was unknown and a surprise to her brother Shahid Kapoor, who too was the lead actor of the movie. Shahid says, “…it came out as a shock when the director told me about her role in the movie. You know how older brothers are protective of their sisters? I was the same, I said to him, “Abhi kaise? Abhi toh choti hai, abhi toh shuru kiya hai” but I guess, he saw the potential and talent in her. I am grateful as well as proud.”
She says, “..though the movie didn’t do well on the box office, I have learned a lot. And now, I have been busy doing theatres with my father, so it has been a good experience here.”
