That’s what lead both of them to be imprisoned. However, they were released the next day on bail.

This caught the media like fire and both mother and daughter became popular over night. Their story started selling. Firstly, because Nihita was almost one-third the age of her husband at the time of marriage. Secondly, because her mother advocated the accused Charles.

Now, it may be very strange to hear but the case of Nihita Biswas became so popular that Netflix offered to make a movie on this. The movie was titled, “The Serpent”. There was also a Hindi movie made on Nihita Biswas and her love story with Charles Sobhraj starring Randeep Hooda. So if you think that it’s not something big enough, well surely their life is big enough to have two movies built around their lives.

The controversy of Nihita Biswas took fire to such an extent that she was invited as a contestant for Bigg Boss Season 5. She was welcomed to the house by Sanjay Dutt. Within a week, Nihika had to evacuate the house as she couldn’t gather much votes. One more thing that happened was a contestant asked her whether she had sex with her husband Charles Sobhraj, This came out as an outrage to her mother and she complained that it was very insensitive to ask such a question.
