Smriti Irani made her debut in television industry with Ekta Kapoor’s show “Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu The“. In this show, she played the role of Tulsi Mihir Virani, which was a leading role. Her mother was a member of Jana Sangh and her grandfather was an RSS Swayamsevak, so she has been too a part of RSS Swayamsevak Sangh from her childhood.
In the year 2003, Smriti Irani joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). During the subsequent year, she was appointed as the Vice-President of the Maharashtra Youth Wing.
