Being someone who’s already in the process of losing weight, we know how many hardships we have to go through. For weight loss, it is recommended to go through a calorie deficit diet. So, cruciferous vegetables for weight loss offer amazing options. They have negligible amounts of fats, almost balanced amounts of less sugar.

So many of us have felt the dire need to lose weight. But, not many of us really need to lose weight. There is a difference between losing weight and losing fat. Last year in the month of December, I was around 72 kgs. Earlier my main priority used to be only weight gain. But, I realized that eating non vegetarian food, has helped me gain weight a lot. Although, even after stopping eating non vegetarian food for the next 3 weeks, I was still gaining weight.

This was when, I realized that it’s the best time to start eating cruciferous vegetables for weight loss. I didn’t want to gain more weight with non-vegetarian food. So, I tried my hands on these delicious vegetables. And trust me, they helped me a lot.

Brussel Sprouts

They may look like normal cabbages to you, but they’re not. Brussel Sprouts are one of those tiny cabbaged shaped sprouts which are super rich in fibers, protein, Vitamin C &K. This cruciferous vegetable for weight loss belongs to the family of Barssicaceae.

Although they have good amounts of protein present in them, but they don’t necessarily constitute for a complete meal. Hence, you can pair them up with some lentils, seeds, dry fruits and nuts etc.

It is recommended not to grill or deep fry Brussel sprouts, as it may take back all its nutritional powers.

Cauliflower

A very popular vegetable in the Indian households from the entire list of vegetables here. Cauliflower is one of those cruciferous vegetables for weight loss which has some immense weight losing properties. But, the only problem here is that cauliflowers are not eaten in the right manner they should be. People in India use too much oil to fry or deep fry this superb vegetable and end up killing most of its nutrients. Hence, you may include Cauliflower in its rawest form as possible.

Broccoli

Here, I’ll be a little biased for broccolis. They’re my personal favorite cruciferous vegetables for weight loss. Broccolis are loaded with high amounts of protein, fiber and helps in reducing cholesterol. So, being high in protein content, Broccoli may help you gain muscles and power to shed off those extra pounds.

Therefore, it’ll also help you reach your fat loss goal faster than before. Hence, I’d suggest you to have at least one decent sized broccoli once a day in the form of salads or so.
