So, finally we come to an end of this week’s yoga theme. Today, we’ll be talking about the benefits of yoga meditation.

Well before start telling you the benefits, let’s tell you about the types of yoga meditation.

As yoga and meditation have different types. Different institutions and ashrams have evolved different forms of meditation and yoga. For different types of diseases and problems, there are different types of yoga meditation.

Types of yoga meditation

Meditation is of particularly just one type. But, yoga has different forms. Depending upon the problems, there are various forms of yoga available to us.

Types of Yoga

There are total 4 types of yogas explained to us by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Other than these 4 types of yoga, there are some more specifically curated forms by some gurus, like Laughter yoga, Goat yoga and other such forms. So, we’re not going to cover them up. We’ll talk about the actual types of yoga known to us.

Karma Yoga

It is a form of yoga where the body is completely involved with the process. During this form of yoga, an individual is taught to love whatever he is doing. Yoga does not mean stretching and sitting. The same way Karma Yoga can be done anywhere by staying completely true to the process.

Bhakti Yoga

Devotion or Bhakti as it is known in this case, refers to a form of yoga where an individual seeks devotion as a tool to reach the ultimate. Bhakti Yoga has been described as one of the best ways to reach the ultimate. During the Bhakti yoga, an individual keeps on doing his Pooja and Path. This helps them become one with the God.

Kriya Yoga

It is one of the most engineering forms of yoga. Kriya Yoga is about understanding the way life is happening on the planet. Along with the meditation yoga, you get to understand and have a deeper look at the way life works.

Gnana Yoga

Gyaan or Gnana is about realizing that what I know, I know and what I do not know, I do not know. When someone comes to a point of this realization, then it is known to be in the form of Gnana Yoga. This means that there are meditation benefits for brain as well.

Now that we have known all the types of yoga meditation, let’s try to understand what meditation is.

What is meditation

Some people talk about the disadvantages of meditation. But there are very few, which you should know!

But, what meditation does is that it tries to calm your feelings. You don’t get super happy and you don’t get super sad. If you get very happy, then the moment you start feeling normal, then the normal feelings becomes sad for you. Hence, meditation helps you be at peace within yourself.
