The 7th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has kicked off in the country on 20th July 2019.
All the Kabaddi teams have pulled up their socks, spunk their squats and are ready to face off one another in the battleground.
The Pro Kabaddi League enthusiasts have waited a long time to see the next season of the game live again. And the time is here. With teams like U Mumba, Telugu Titans and Jaipur Pink Panthers, the show is ready to bring thrilling and nail-biting finishes on your Television screens.
One of the teams, U Mumba, which has an impressive track record of winning 40 out of 60 total matches is also ready to give a huge competition to other teams.
The U Mumba team is one of the two teams from Maharashtra. The second one being Puneri Paltan.
The team is coached by Gholamreza Mazandarani, an Iranian, making U Mumba the first team to be coached by an International Coach.
U Mumba team is owned by Ronnie Screwvala, an entrepreneur, filmmaker and ranked 78 amongst 100 most influential people in the world. He’s produced and co-produced many movies like Delhi-6, Paan Singh Tomar, Rowdy Rathore, Lust Stories, Karwaan, Kedarnath and Uri: The Surgical Strike. The team is owned by Unilazer Ventures Pvt Ltd which is owned and controlled by Ronnie Screwala.
Ronnie built and sold UTV group to Disney for a sum of USD 450 Million in 2012 and post that has been fairly active in terms of investing in startups through his venture fund “Unilazer” in addition to running his startup “UpGrad”. He has been an instrumental force behind the success of U Mumba.
The U Mumba team got defeated by Jaipur Pink Panthers in the first season of PKL. Later on, in the second season of the game, U Mumba came out as the winner by showcasing one of the best performances throughout the season.
This season, a lot of new players have joined Pro Kabaddi League from another show of the same segment, Future Kabaddi Heroes. Thus, making it more fun and engaging to see new players tackling the players of Pro Kabaddi League.
The team captain, Fazel Atrachali is one of the longest-serving captains of any team of Pro Kabaddi League. He has given great performances during the last editions of PKL at an individual level and has been able to motivate his whole team.
The team has 3 All Rounders: Ajinkya Rohidas Kapre, Mohit Balyan and Sandeep Narwal.
They also have 8 raiders: Abhishek Singh, Arjun Deshwal, Athul MS, Dong Geon Lee, Gaurav Kumar, Navneet, Rohit Baliyan and Vinoth Kumar.
A total of 7 defenders are available in the team: Fazel Atrachali, who’s also the captain of the team, Rajaguru Subramanian, Harsh Vardhan, Anil, Harendra Kumar, Young Chang Ko and Surender Singh.
